Freshmen Start New Normal Campus Life

Dear students, faculty and staff members and residents of Akita City,

One week ago, 1st-year students who wished to live on campus arrived safely.

Although the check-in occurred from January 9 through 11 in challenging circumstances including record-breaking heavy snow and the resulting disruption of public transportation services, to our relief, we were able to welcome the students to campus without significant problems.

Moving forward, the COVID-19 situation remains unpredictable, but I would like to ask all students, faculty and staff members to continue to work in solidarity, stay conscious of the “New Normal” and take thorough infection risk prevention precautions in order to avoid getting infected and transmitting the virus to others.
